Faith in Action is a community nonprofit that provides furniture and household goods to families in need, helping them turn empty houses into homes.
Our Story
Faith in Action was founded over 20 years ago by Judge Beau McClain. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, thousands of families were displaced, arriving in Georgia with little more than the clothes on their backs. Children slept on the floor, parents had no tables to gather around, and houses remained empty long after families had moved in.
Out of compassion and a deep sense of community responsibility, he launched Faith in Action to meet this overlooked but critical need. What began as a small effort to deliver donated furniture to families in crisis has grown into a long-standing nonprofit serving Douglas County and beyond. Today, Faith in Action continues the work Judge McClain began — turning houses into homes by providing beds, couches, and dining tables to families who need them most.
Our Mission
Faith in Action exists to provide families in Douglas County with the furniture and household essentials they need to create safe, comfortable, and hope-filled homes.
We envision a community where every child has a bed to sleep in, every family has a table to gather around, and no home is left empty. By meeting these basic needs, we believe we can strengthen families, restore dignity, and create lasting change in our community.
